Barcelona's Kabilio raises €10m for AI accounting tools
Barcelona-based Kabilio has raised €10 million in a funding round led by Picus Capital and Visionaries. The company builds an artificial intelligence platform aimed at accounting firms and the smaller businesses that rely on them, placing it among a growing group of startups applying automation to professional finance work.
Accounting practices have long juggled repetitive bookkeeping, reconciliation and compliance work alongside client advisory duties. Software makers argue that AI can absorb much of that routine load, freeing staff to concentrate on higher-value work, though firms remain cautious about the accuracy and oversight of automated outputs. Buyers also want a clear audit trail for any machine-generated figure.
The backing from Picus Capital and Visionaries points to continued investor appetite for applied AI in professional services, a category that has attracted capital as financial institutions and advisory businesses seek efficiency gains. Deal activity in the segment has been steady even as overall venture funding has tightened.
Kabilio did not disclose how it intends to deploy the proceeds. The raise gives the Barcelona company additional resources in a crowded field where established accounting software vendors and newer AI entrants are competing for the same clients. The company has not detailed whether the capital will fund hiring, product development or expansion into new markets.
