Tiger Brokers Singapore Adds Extended-Hours US Options

10h ago

Tiger Brokers Singapore has introduced extended-hours trading for US options, giving local investors a longer window to act on the US market within Singapore hours. The service is available through Tiger Trade, the brokerage's trading platform, and extends access beyond the regular US session.

Users can trade options on some of the most actively traded US stocks, including Apple, NVIDIA and Tesla. Trading starts at 7:30pm Singapore time, or 8:30pm when the US is on standard time, two hours before the US market opens. The arrangement lets clients place options trades before the main US session gets underway.

The launch builds on Tiger Brokers Singapore's existing 24-hour US stock trading, which lets clients follow US markets beyond usual local hours. By adding options to that framework, the broker aims to give Singapore investors more flexibility around their own schedules.

Extended-hours options trading can appeal to investors who want to react to overseas developments without staying up through the US session. However, thinner liquidity outside regular market hours may mean wider spreads and different execution conditions. Investors are still advised to weigh the risks of trading when volumes are lighter.
