Incore Bank tests AI agents for faster onboarding with risk checks

1h ago

Incore Bank has concluded a proof of concept exploring the use of AI agents in customer onboarding. The Swiss lender worked alongside Kyndryl and Google Cloud on the trial, which sought ways to accelerate the time-to-onboard while preserving the strength of its risk assessment procedures.

The initiative targets a known frustration in banking: the often lengthy process of verifying new clients. With AI handling portions of the workflow, the bank can lighten the burden on human staff and reduce hold-ups during compliance checks. Even so, the design keeps automated risk evaluation under the same strict controls applied to traditional methods.

Kyndryl and Google Cloud supplied the underlying technology, integrating AI capabilities into Incore's current architecture. The project shows how commercial cloud platforms can be adapted to meet the expectations of regulators and the security demands of a Swiss bank.

Incore has not announced when the system might move into full production. However, the trial itself is part of a broader push toward agentic AI in banking, as lenders search for ways to cut friction without loosening oversight.
