Fin.com exits stealth with $20m for cross-border payments layer

Just now

Fin.com, a payments infrastructure startup, has come out of stealth with $20 million in funding, the company said. It is building what it describes as an orchestration layer that helps businesses collect, convert and move money across borders.

The pitch rests on a simple problem: cross-border payments remain fragmented. Firms typically stitch together banking partners, local payment schemes and messaging networks, each with its own onboarding, compliance and settlement quirks. Fin.com aims to sit above those connections and route transactions through whichever channel fits the corridor, currency and speed required.

Its stack spans local payment rails, US dollar virtual accounts, Swift messaging and settlement in stablecoins. That combination reflects a broader shift in the industry, where digital assets are increasingly treated as one settlement option among many rather than a replacement for existing infrastructure. Virtual accounts, similarly, have become a common tool for firms that want to hold and move dollar balances without building a full banking footprint.

The startup joins a crowded field of providers chasing the same corporate demand, from legacy correspondent banks to newer API-driven platforms. The new capital will determine how quickly Fin.com can widen its corridor coverage and win clients against rivals that already have scale.
