Unlimit Gains MiCA Licence in Cyprus

13d ago

Unlimit, a global financial infrastructure provider, announced that its crypto arm, Unlimit Crypto, has obtained a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) licence from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. The licence is granted under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), which sets a unified framework for crypto assets across the bloc.

MiCA aims to harmonise rules for crypto service providers, enhancing investor protection and market integrity. By securing the licence, Unlimit aligns with these standards, enabling it to offer regulated crypto services within the EU. The Cyprus regulator is among the first to issue licences under MiCA, positioning the island as a crypto-friendly hub.

Unlimit provides payment and banking infrastructure globally. The CASP licence allows its crypto division to operate compliantly across EU member states, covering services like custody, exchange, and transfer of digital assets. This move strengthens Unlimit's foothold in the European digital asset market.

The licence marks a significant step for Unlimit, as regulatory clarity becomes crucial for institutional adoption. With MiCA implementation underway, companies like Unlimit are positioning themselves to serve clients under a consistent legal framework.
