Unlimit Crypto secures Cyprus licence under EU's MiCA
Global financial infrastructure firm Unlimit has announced that its crypto arm, Unlimit Crypto, has obtained a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) licence from the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). The approval was granted under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
MiCA establishes a harmonised regulatory framework for crypto assets and service providers across the EU. By securing the licence, Unlimit Crypto can offer its services across the bloc's single market, leveraging the passporting rights that come with the regulatory regime.
The licence allows Unlimit to expand its existing payment infrastructure into the digital asset space. The company said the move aligns with its strategy to provide comprehensive financial solutions to clients, enabling them to manage crypto and fiat operations under one platform.
The approval marks another step in the growing adoption of MiCA as Europe tightens oversight of the crypto sector. Companies seeking to operate across EU member states are increasingly turning to CySEC-regulated entities to gain a foothold in the region.
