Tesla-SpaceX Merger Talk Puts 30,221 Bitcoin in Focus

Talk of a possible combination between Tesla and SpaceX has drawn attention to an unusual side effect: the size of the bitcoin stack the two companies would control together. Elon Musk's ventures have taken different routes into digital assets, and a merger would place those holdings under a single balance sheet.

According to Benzinga, a combined entity would hold 30,221 bitcoin, a position valued at roughly $2.56 billion at recent prices. That would rank the merged company among the largest corporate owners of the asset, a distinction that brings both potential balance-sheet gains and added scrutiny from investors who prefer management to stay focused on core operations.

The crypto exposure is not merely decorative. Bitcoin-related gains accounted for 28% of Tesla's net income in the third quarter, illustrating how much sway digital-asset prices can have over reported results at a business known primarily for vehicles and energy storage.

No transaction has been announced, and any talk of a tie-up remains speculative. Even so, the figures point to a broader shift: corporate treasuries now hold bitcoin in quantities large enough to shape earnings, and any deal involving Musk's companies would put that exposure directly in front of shareholders.
