Plus500 to Buy Hedge Capital Markets Conditionally

5d ago

Plus500, a global multi-asset fintech group that operates proprietary technology-based trading platforms, has conditionally agreed to acquire Hedge Capital Markets Inc. and its subsidiaries. The acquisition would bring Hedge, including a US broker-dealer, into the Plus500 group. Plus500 announced the conditional agreement as it seeks to expand its operations.

The target includes a broker-dealer registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission and a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Those credentials highlight the regulated nature of the business being acquired. For Plus500, the deal would add a US securities presence alongside its existing multi-asset trading platform operations.

The agreement is conditional, so completion depends on specified requirements being satisfied. Plus500 is described as a global multi-asset fintech group operating proprietary technology-based trading platforms. The acquisition would fold Hedge's operations into that platform-led model.

If the conditions are met, the acquisition would give Plus500 a regulated US broker-dealer within its group. Hedge's SEC registration and FINRA membership would subject the relevant securities activities to US oversight. The proposed transaction therefore extends Plus500's reach into the US brokerage and securities market.
