Kalshi partners with Alpaca for international expansion
Kalshi, the federally regulated prediction market exchange, is teaming up with brokerage technology provider Alpaca to extend its event contracts to investors outside the United States. The collaboration is designed to tap into growing global demand for prediction-based trading products.
Through Alpaca's infrastructure, Kalshi will be able to offer its event contracts to a broader international client base. Alpaca provides brokerage APIs and backend systems that allow financial firms to launch trading platforms quickly, making it a natural bridge for Kalshi to reach overseas users without setting up local operations.
The move comes as prediction markets gain traction worldwide, with traders using them to speculate on everything from elections to economic data. Kalshi, which operates under U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission oversight, has been expanding its product lineup and distribution channels to compete with larger platforms. Alpaca's global reach gives Kalshi a distribution path into new geographies.
For Alpaca, the partnership underscores its strategy of powering next-generation financial services with scalable back-end tools. While the companies did not disclose financial terms, the tie-up reflects a broader trend of infrastructure firms connecting regulated exchanges with international investors. Kalshi's push to build an international audience signals its ambition to become a global venue for event-based trading.
