Finastra Adds AI Repair Recommendations to Payment Workflows

13h ago

Finastra has introduced Repair Recommendations, an AI-driven feature built into its AI OperatorAssist product. The company presented the capability at Sibos 2026 in Miami, positioning it as a way for banks to bring more informed decision-making into payment operations they already run.

Payment volumes continue to climb across markets, and exception handling remains one of the more labor-intensive parts of the back office. When a payment fails validation or arrives with incomplete information, staff often must review it manually before it can move forward, a process that consumes time and can slow settlement.

The new capability is designed to sit within banks' existing workflows rather than require a separate system. By generating repair recommendations, it aims to give operators guidance at the point of decision, helping institutions respond more quickly as transaction activity grows. Finastra framed the launch as an addition to its broader AI tooling for financial institutions.

The announcement reflects a wider push among core banking and payments vendors to embed artificial intelligence into operational tasks that have traditionally depended on manual review. Finastra did not disclose pricing or a general availability timeline in its Sibos statement.
