Evervault Launches Browser Tokens for Secure Agentic Payments
Evervault introduced Browser Tokens at Money20/20, aiming to give developers building agentic commerce products a safer way for AI agents and browser automations to handle sensitive online tasks. The offering is designed for purchases, account logins and other workflows that require access to payment or personal information.
The core idea is to keep payment cards, passwords and personal data away from the agent and the browser provider. Instead of handing over raw credentials to automated systems, developers can use tokens so AI agents can complete actions without direct exposure to the underlying sensitive details.
That matters as agentic commerce grows more common. AI agents are increasingly expected to act on behalf of users across shopping, account access and other online processes. Each step creates risk if the agent or browser layer can see the credentials involved, so token-based controls aim to reduce that exposure while still allowing automation.
The launch is aimed at developers building these products. By providing a secure mechanism for agents and browser automations to work with sensitive workflows, Browser Tokens fit into a broader push to make automated commerce practical without placing payment or login data directly in the hands of the automation layer.
