CLS completes data center migration with Kyndryl
CLS has completed a move into a new data center environment, with Kyndryl supporting the migration. The financial market infrastructure group, which supplies settlement, processing and data services, and the enterprise technology services provider announced the finished transition together.
CLS occupies a central position in the global foreign exchange market, running the settlement system that underpins a substantial share of daily currency transactions. Banks, brokers and other counterparties rely on that plumbing, which is treated as systemically important, so technology changes must be carried out without disturbing the institutions that depend on it. That role makes operational resilience a priority for the firm and its supervisors.
Kyndryl, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange, positions itself as a provider of mission-critical enterprise technology services. The company worked with CLS on the shift to the replacement facility, according to the announcement.
Neither side disclosed the financial terms, cost or duration of the project, and no further technical detail was released. For market participants, the completed migration points to a continued effort to keep the group's settlement and data services running on refreshed infrastructure as demands on those systems keep growing.
