Bruce Markets to Launch Weekend U.S. Equities Trading
Bruce Markets LLC, an SEC-registered broker-dealer and operator of Bruce ATS, has announced an agreement to expand U.S. equity trading into the weekend, pending regulatory review. The Chicago-based firm said the move is intended to give global investors continuous access to U.S. stocks, rather than limiting activity to traditional weekday sessions.
The initiative, described as a first for continuous weekend U.S. equities trading, is backed by strategic investments led by PEAK6 and Robinhood. Bruce Markets plans to rely on Nasdaq's trading technology and clearing services from Apex Clearing Corporation as it builds out the expanded schedule.
A new weekend session is expected to go live in the coming months, though the rollout remains subject to regulatory approval. If cleared, the service would extend trading beyond the standard Monday-through-Friday window and could reshape how market participants manage orders, liquidity and risk outside regular hours.
The announcement points to growing demand for round-the-clock access to U.S. markets, a shift that could affect brokers, exchanges and investors worldwide. Bruce Markets did not provide a precise launch date, and the plan still faces review by regulators before any weekend trading can begin.
