Broadridge adds G7 securities to tokenized repo platform

2h ago

Broadridge Financial Solutions announced the global expansion of its Distributed Ledger Repo (DLR) platform, with G7 securities now joining the network. The fintech firm said the move is designed to give market participants an institutional-scale solution for executing repurchase agreements across borders.

The platform supports cross-border repo transactions, intraday repo activity, and collateral movements through atomic settlement, according to Broadridge. By bringing G7 securities into the fold, the company aims to modernize a key segment of short-term funding markets that has traditionally relied on manual, error-prone processes.

DLR is part of Broadridge's broader push into distributed ledger technology for capital markets. The expansion builds on earlier deployments of the solution and is intended to facilitate real-time, simultaneous settlement of cash and securities, eliminating counterparty and operational risks in repo trades.

Including G7 securities is expected to broaden the platform's appeal among global banks and institutional investors. Broadridge did not disclose which firms have signed up, but said the expanded network is available immediately. The announcement marks the latest step in the gradual adoption of blockchain-based trading infrastructure in traditional finance.
