Anna Wallace Takes the Helm at CFIT

1h ago

Anna Wallace has taken the top job at CFIT, the Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology, after more than two decades spent working where regulation, policy and financial innovation overlap. Her appointment places her at the head of an organisation built to bridge those worlds.

Her career has moved between the rule-making side of finance and the technology that keeps reshaping it. At the Financial Conduct Authority she led an initiative described as a world first, an experience that gave her an unusually close view of how supervisors and innovators interact, and of where the friction between them tends to appear.

That perspective is central to CFIT's role. The organisation exists to connect established institutions, younger technology companies and public bodies, and to help ideas move from pilot stage into the wider market. Running it calls for someone fluent in the language of both regulators and founders, able to translate one for the other.

Wallace's record suggests a career built on that balance rather than on either side alone. For a sector watching how innovation gets encouraged without standards slipping, her tenure will be worth following closely.
